In this painting I used tempera paint to create an up close image of something natural and unnatural. I chose dandelions and colored pencils, and in doing this I worked on adding complementary colors, blending colors to get just the right one, and creating the right scale for an image. I used the art elements of line, shape, form, value, and color. I also used the design elements of proportion, balance, contrast, and especially scale. This drawing shows a new way of looking at the flowers, and creates a distinct contrast between the world of nature and the objects we use everyday.
