For this project the goal was to take a picture of our own, and turn it into a Disney style painting. This first picture is the photo my painting will be based on, and the next two are pictures as I sketched and then started painting.
For my choice project I chose to do another landscape, but in colored pencil. The first photo is the image I am basing my drawing on, and the next two are pictures of my drawing as I have worked on it. These are based one the same photo, but use two different techniques. The top uses local color, or mostly browns and dark colors, and makes the painting look dull. The second used impressionist color, and uses complementary colors to make the painting look bright. I started this painting, like others, with the lighter, basic colors. I then added the trees and some details, and will start to add more color and the final details to have it done by Friday. This is a picture that I took in Colorado, and I have edited it to paint for the dull landscape painting where I will use only greens, reds, peaches, and similar colors to paint it. These are pictures of my landscape painting as I worked on details. These are towards the end of the process, but still show the difference from here to the final. |
